  • What is a guided tour?

    Take a guided tour and you can expect: 1. Pre-determined routes: The tour will be defined and pre-arranged including specific roads, hotels and accommodation, rest stops, breakfast, lunch and dinner stops and sightseeing. 2. Tour Guides: There will be at least one trained professional Tour Guide on each tour. 3. Escort vehicle: There will be an escort vehicle to carry customer luggage as required. 4. Rental motorcycles: Harley-Davidson® Authorized Rental motorcycles will be included in the package. 5. Group Sizes: Group sizes will not exceed 15 motorcycles (excluding the Tour Guide), and a maximum of 30 people (including passengers) per Tour Guide Included in the package: o Hotel stays each night of the tour o Harley-Davidson® Authorized Rental motorcycle (where applicable) o Tour Guide o Escort vehicle o Transfer from the airport to the hotel and back to the airport again (where applicable) o Transfer from hotel to rental station and back to hotel again (where applicable) o Highway tolls

  • What is a self-guided tour?

    Take a self-guided tour and you can expect: 

    1. Pre-determined routes:  The route will be defined and the necessary arrangements will be in place for hotels and accommodation, with suggestions for rest stops, meal stops and sightseeing. 

    2. Rental motorcycles: Harley-Davidson® Authorized Rental motorcycles will be included in the package. 

    3. Included in the package: 

    o Hotel stays each night of the tour o Harley-Davidson® Authorized Rental motorcycle 

    o Detailed map of the route and daily itinerary 

  • How do I make a reservation?

    If you make an enquiry through the Harley-Davidson® Authorized Tours Program site the Tour Operator will contact you, answer any of your questions and give you the option to reserve a place on the tour. Reservations will be taken on a first come, first served basis. 

  • Do I need to pay a deposit?

    A reservation deposit will be required to secure your place(s) on the tour. The Tour Operator will advise you of the terms and conditions of the tour including the reservation deposit amount.  The reservation deposit and balance of the final fee are to be paid directly to the Tour Operator. 

  • What is the cancellation and refund policy?

    Refunds of tour reservation deposits and full payments are at the discretion of the Tour Operator. For full details of refund and cancellation policies, please refer to the specific terms and conditions of each tour. 

  • Do I need a passport or visa?

    Everyone requires a valid passport for traveling abroad.  You may need a visa too – tell your Tour Operator where your passport is from, and they will let you know about any visa requirements. 

  • Do I need travel/medical insurance?

    Definitely. Your safety is our number one concern, so we ask you to take out both travel and medical insurance. They must be fitting to the tour and valid for the duration of your trip. Please discuss these requirements with your Tour Operator.

  • How do I rent a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle?

    Your Tour Operator will arrange your rental motorcycle for you. They’ll talk you through the models available and best suited to your riding experience. All rental motorcycles will be from Harley-Davidson® Authorized Rentals locations.

  • What are my responsibilities when I rent a Harley-Davidson®?

    • You are responsible for any passengers with you

    • You must hold a full and valid motorcycle driving license

    • You are required to have valid insurances for your motorcycle, for yourself and your passenger. Please refer to specific tour terms and conditions for details

    • You are required to ride within the legal requirements of each country visited 

  • Can I bring my own motorcycle?

    On many of our tours you can. You should discuss the motorcycle you’d like to take on tour with your Tour Operator. It must be well maintained and road legal. 

  • If I bring my own motorcycle, what are my responsibilities?

    You are responsible for your own motorcycle, ensuring that it is well maintained and in road legal condition

    • You are responsible for any passengers with you

    • You are required to hold a full valid motorcycle-driving license

    • You are required to have valid insurances for your motorcycle, for yourself and your passenger, please refer to specific tour terms and conditions for details 

    • You are required to take out motorcycle recovery assistance for accidents or breakdown

    • You are required to ride within the legal requirements of each country visited

    • You are responsible for the repair or related services to your motorcycle if it is out of order (mechanical breakdown or accident)

  • Is Harley-Davidson organising these tours?

    All tours are operated by Tour Operators which have been approved by Harley-Davidson®. This means they meet the requirements we’ve set as standard. The Tour Operators are all independent companies, however, and not part of the Harley-Davidson® group of companies.  The tours are organised and managed independently of us, and are the responsibility of the Tour Operator.

  • What are the responsibilities of the Tour Operator?

    The Tour Operator is responsible for creating the route and developing the content of the tour. It is their

     responsibility to obtain all supplies, comply with applicable laws and regulations, manage your booking, and implement the tour. For more information, please see the specific terms and conditions of each tour.

  • How many miles will I ride each day?

    This will vary from tour to tour. Please refer to the specific tour itinerary for more details. 

  • How many people will be on the tour?

    On guided and semi-guided tours, group sizes will not exceed 15 motorcycles (excluding the Tour Guide), with a maximum of 30 people (including passengers) per Tour Guide.

  • Are meals included?

    Please see the specific tour itinerary for details - all included items are specified.

  • What if I have specific dietary requirements?

    Please advise the Tour Operator if you have specific dietary requirements.

  • What riding gear do I need?

    All the usual suspects. Helmet, boots, full-length trousers, jacket, eye protection, gloves and waterproofs. If you are renting a Harley-Davidson® Authorized Rental motorcycle, you will be provided with an all-in-one waterproof and a helmet if required.  However, we urge you to bring your own.

  • Will there be a tour guide?

    On guided and semi-guided tours there will be at least one trained professional Tour Guide. 

  • What happens in the event of a breakdown?

    If you have rented a Harley-Davidson® Authorized Rental motorcycle, your motorcycle will automatically be covered by vehicle breakdown assistance. If you bring your own motorcycle, you’ll need to take out your own motorcycle recovery assistance for accidents and breakdown.

  • What if I have an accident or fall ill?

    If you are on a guided or semi-guided tour, the Tour Guide will assist you as much as possible. You should also make sure that the emergency services, your travel insurance company, your medical insurance company and the motorcycle rental company (where applicable) are notified immediately.

    If you are on a self-guided tour, then you should notify the Tour Operator, the police/ emergency services, your travel insurance company, your medical insurance company and the motorcycle rental company (where applicable) immediately.

  • How can my company become a Harley-Davidson Authorized® Tour Operator?
